Chelsea's manager merry-go-round picked up pace last night after a sensational outburst from interim manager Rafa Benitez. The Spaniard took exception to consistent fan protests against him and is now odds of 2/5 to not be in charge of Chelsea's last game this season.

Bookmaker Paddy Power has given Benitez a short shelf life and the Special One is clear favourite to make a spectacular return to the Bridge. Mourinho has odds of 5/6 to be in charge of the club at the start of next season. Everton manager David Moyes is second favourite at 4/1 after a superb year and ex-Chelsea player Gus Poyet is third favourite at odds of 7/1.

Benitez has taken Chelsea through to the quarter finals of the FA Cup where they have odds of 11/2 to win the competition, and through to the last 16 of the Europa League where the club are favourites to take the title at odds of 7/2. However, it's the inconsistent league form and team selection that has angered supporters.

Other names in the mix for the position are Swansea hero Michael Laudrup at 10/1, Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola at 16/1, and John Terry at 25/1. Less likely to get the job are ex-Chelsea man turned TV pundit Ray Wilkins at 80/1 and outgoing Pope Benedict XVI at odds of 500/1.

Paddy Power said: "Rafa, in usual fashion, is attempting to make his exit from a job as dramatic as possible. His ranting and raving at the fans has taken his approval rating at Stamford Bridge to a Felipe Scolari style low and we think the Special One's return is imminent."
